Why: This June all Oaklanders vote for candidates for the At Large City Council seat. Come hear these candidates’ positions on creating affordable housing, good accessible jobs and other community benefits important to working families.

A follow-up to our Forum of April 6, attended by almost 100 people, this forum will continue to address the current challenges to the first community radio station in the country: including finances, election problems, derecognition of the unpaid staff bargaining unit by interim management, and weakening of the Program Council.

In light of the natural disaster in Myanmar, Spark and CARE are partnering on an event to send clean drinking water there -- it will be next Thursday, May 22nd in San Francisco (see details below and at www.sparksf.org). CARE has been working on the ground in Myanmar for several years and can help ensure the water is properly distributed.
