How to add a news item
1. Top Navigation Bar> Create Content> News Item
2. Fill in
a. Title= Article Title
b. Author first name, last name (NOTE THIS IS A REDUNDANT ENTRY FOR NEWS TRACKING FEATURE AND DOES NOT APPEAR TO PUBLIC)
c. Dateline= Date published in news outlet
(NOTE THIS IS NOT THE SAME AS DATE POSTED WHICH IS UNDER AUTHORING INFORMATION. THIS IS THE DATE THE NEWS OUTLET PUBLISHED THE ARTICLE)
d. Source=Replace ADDRESS with the article url. Replace SOURCE with the name of the publication
3. Input format: leave blank
4. Categories
a. Program Area: –none selected- (Otherwise it will appear in the “What’s New” program block and the “News” block.)
b. News Items: Select news area
c. Region: Select news place
d. SEC member name: Leave blank
e. Hot topics: Leave blank
f. Type of story: Select “News”
5. Story rating: Leave blank
6. Body
a. Select “enable rich text” at the bottom of the box
b. Copy the text of your article and paste it into Notepad. Copy it again and past it into the Body box.
c. Do not include the title (you already did)
d. Line 1: Author (in byline font)
e. Line 2: Publication (in body font)
f. Body of article (in body font
7. Phone: If available
8. Email: If available
9. Fairuselink: Leave as is
10. Input format: Leave as is
11. Log message: Leave as is
12. URL path settings: Leave as is
13. File attachments: Leave blank (Or see How To attach files)
14. Authoring information: Leave as is
NOTE TO CHANGE RANKING IN PAGE YOU CAN CHANGE THE POST DATE TO MORE OR LESS RECENT(2009-06-18 14:56:21 -0800. ) year-month-date-hour-minute-seconds-greenwhich mean time adjustment
15. Publishing options: Check “Published” only
