CPEHN would like to invite you to our spring convening series, The Path to Healthy Communities: Place-Based Solutions to Achieving Health Equity. This interactive session will focus on the intersection of health and land use, and how where we live and work affects our health. Communities of color experience significantly poorer health status and are more likely to live in neighborhoods that do not provide them with the same opportunities for good health such as access to healthy foods, safe sidewalks, and clean air. This convening will bring together local community leaders and public health experts to talk about these issues and develop policy solutions.

The convening agenda will include the following:

  • Screening of Unnatural Causes…Is Inequity Making Us Sick? – a new documentary on the social conditions that lead to health disparities
  • Group discussion to identify policy solutions to address how the built environment affects the health of communities of color and develop next steps for advocacy work
  • Presentations from policy experts on current legislative activity
  • Call to action, featuring the debut of CPEHN’s new Issue Tracker
