donationThe movement for environmental justice (EJ) and to abolish the prison-industrial complex (PIC) have historically converged in powerful organizing moments, such as the fight against the Delano 2 prison. Framing prisons as issues of environmental justice - polluting, unhealthy facilities for those in them and those around them - has been useful in connecting urban-rural anti-prison forces.
The Community Water Center uses education, organizing, advocacy and legal assistance to create community-based solutions to drinking water problems in California's San Joaquin Valley. Critical Resistance is a national grassroots organization building a movement to abolish the prison-industrial complex.
This event is one of hundreds around the country in preparation for CR 10: a weekend of strategy and celebration for the movement to end the prison-industrial complex. Mark your calendars and register now for CR10. Call 510-444-0484 ext. 2; or visit www.criticalresistance.org
