REDI Newsletter Items
you will see a new item in the LEFT navigation element called
REDI Newsletter links to:
http://urbanhabitat.org/redi/newsletter/page
you can use the book outline feature to add (and remove) things to the left column MANUALLY.
there is also a navigation block on the RIGHT side (currently at the bottom) that will AUTOMATICALLY collect all things tagged "REDI NEWS" in the newsletter catgory drop down menu when you create new PROGRAM NEWSLETTER ITEMS. The items also need to be tagged "UPDATE" or "ACTION" in the "Type of Story" drop down. If there are enough action alerts we can later separate these into 2 blocks.
For PROGRAM NEWSLETTER ITEMS the DATELINE date field shows up automatically. If you re-purpose an existing story with no dateline by tagging it appropriately it will show up but without the date. That's what i did for the "REDI Victory! Just Cause Ordinance Passes in Richmond" story.
For new items the URL ALIAS should be in the form: redi/newsletter/date/description
For the moment this will largely duplicate the what's new at REDI block so there is no reason to promote the newsletter block to a more visible location. Redundant tagging will render the navigation blacks sort of useless so we will need to revist the ditinction between REDI the program area and REDI news etc.
