Candlelight procession and vigil to support affordable healthcare
A letter from East Bay Interfaith Committee for Worker Justice:
Dear Friends and Colleagues,
Some of us have been standing up for health care reform not just for weeks or months but for years. Our nation is close to taking a huge step forward -- closer than ever before in the history of U.S. health care reform.
People of faith have consistently kept at the forefront of the healthcare debate a vision of quality affordable health care that is available to all in our nation. As we begin this holiday season we want to shine a light once more on that vision for the immigrant, the working family, those most vulnerable and the 45,000 who lost their lives this year because they lacked access to affordable health care.
Please join hundreds in a candlelight procession through the streets of San Francisco on December 10 at 5 PM from Yerba Buena Gardens (on Mission between 4th and 3rd) to Union Square (Geary and Stockton). Religious leaders are invited to participate in a beginning service of blessing and remembrance. Wear religious vestments. For bulletin inserts - email cbeen@clueca.org or for more information call Rev. Carol Been at 831-239-1254.
There are those who would want us divided or despairing - let us take this moment to stand united and hold up the highest vision for the healing of our nation.
