The Great Communities Collaborative Commissions Site Analysis of Potential Affordable Housing Sites in Fremont
The Great Communities Collaborative's Transit Oriented Development
fund, with assistance from Urban Habitat and Non-Profit Housing
Association of Northern California, recently commissioned an affordable housing study of selected sites in the City of Fremont. Fremont, as many South Alamedan residents know, consists of 5 neighborhoods: the Central Business District (Downtown), Irvington, Mission San Jose, Centerville, and Warm Springs. Three of those neighborhoods have BART stations either already present (the CBD), currently under construction (Warm Springs) or planned for the future (Irvington). Our housing development work also focuses on providing affordable housing that is linked with supportive services to assist low-income and special needs households to achieve and maintain housing stability and self-sufficiency.
Allied Housing increases the supply of affordable housing specifically in multifamily housing developments for small scale and special needs housing in Mid-, Eastern, and Southern Alameda County.Allied Housing accomplishes this mission by both developing affordable and supportive housing as an owner and developer, and also by providing development consulting services to social service agencies that see the need for affordable housing development in their service area, but lack the necessary capacity and expertise to take on a project on their own.
Two versions of the report are available to download below, one hi-res for printing (which includes large color maps) and the other for viewing and printing at a lower resoulation.
