REDI Releases Implementation Measures and Forms New Alliance

The Richmond Equitable Development Initiative (REDI) released its General Plan Recommendations and Implementation Measures in early 2008. Working closely with both the City and General Plan consultants, MIG, REDI is hopeful that some of this important language will be included in the final plan. The Implementation Measures and other important documents can be obtained at the REDI Archives.

In addition, a recent new alliance with the Greater Richmond Interfaith Program (GRIP) is leading to greater outreach to residents and local congregations about how to create affordable housing in their communities. REDI will be working with Urban Habitat’s new Education and Training Coordinator, Pam Graybeal, to plan workshops on equitable development issues with both community leaders and elected officials over the coming months.

REDI also recently placed all of their documents on the web for review. To read the Implementation Measures or any other document REDI has released, check out the REDI Archives.
