Grassroots Leadership Network of Marin Update

The Martin Luther King Holiday 2008 was definitely a "Day On, Not a Day Off" in the North Bay. Hundreds of community members gathered in Marin City at the 10th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Birthday Celebration, hosted by Grassroots Leadership Network of Marin, for a day long event that included a community forum on "Race, Community, and Leadership", community awards, and many local talents and musical performances that uplifted the spirits for a year of social justice work. Get a little bit of the uplifting spirit of the celebration by taking a look at the pictures at the pictures at www.maringrassroots.org /mlk2008" target="_blank">www.maringrassroots.org /mlk2008

Grassroots Leadership Network of Marin is co-hosting a North Bay Families' Town Hall meeting as part of the Equal Voice for America's Families Campaign, lead by Marguerite Casey Foundation, on Saturday, April 26th, from 1 to 4 pm, at the Pickleweed Park Community Center located at 50 Canal St, San Rafael. The event will lift up the issues affecting working families in the region to build an action platform that will unite our efforts across issues and regions and to effect change in local, state and national policies that will bring about a more just and equitable society.
