Position Description

Director of Finance & Administration - Public Advocates

Public Advocates Inc. seeks an experienced and dynamic non-profit professional to play an influential leadership role in ensuring that our civil rights law firm and advocacy organization has the exceptional administrative services needed to fulfill our mission. The Director will provide strong finance, human resources, and operations oversight and will have an opportunity to both shape and implement systems and staffing. The person selected will join a respected, growing organization with a $2M annual budget, 20-person staff, and a storied 40-year history of fighting the root causes of poverty and discrimination through tangible legal victories and strengthening the voices of low-income people and people of color.

Position Summary
CPEHN is looking for a part-time (80%) Administrative Associate based in our Oakland office. The Administrative Associate is responsible for providing administrative support for CPEHN’s program and policy activities.

CJJC is looking to hire a part-time Grassroots Fundraiser to conduct our ambitious fundraising program to raise grassroots support from our membership base and supporters. In 2011, we are implementing exciting plans to increase our base of monthly sustainers, throwing several parties and fundraising events, increasing our support from membership dues and from major donors.

This position will be part of our fundraising team and will be supervised by the Development Coordinator.

Responsibilities of the staff person will be:
• Coordinate team of staff and volunteers working on grassroots fundraising activities
• Execute major donor strategies
• Develop phonebanking plans, scripts, tracking systems

Organization: The California Reinvestment Coalition (CRC) is a statewide
coalition of almost 300 nonprofit organizations whose goal is to stop
predatory lending, advocate for community needs and expand access to
fair finance. CRC is a small, dynamic organization that advocates
increased access to banking for affordable housing and community
economic development, and consuemrs for low-income communities and
communities of color. CRC also assists local community groups with
community advocacy strategies.
