REDI General Plan Policies to be Released
The Richmond Equitable Development Initiative (REDI) will soon release its full policy recommendations and implementation measures that provide specific ways in which the City of Richmond can use its General Plan to achieve greater equity and sustainability. In addition, REDI recently developed policy memos on how the City can achieve equity through land use policy and the potential development of a ferry terminal in Richmond. REDI continues to push forward with its General Plan campaign to ensure the inclusion of principles, policy recommendations and implementation measures that reflect a healthy community through equitable development including, among other things, development and workforce strategies that provide quality jobs for residents, land use that promotes community ownership and affordability in all areas of the city, inclusionary housing policies that produces housing for the low to very low-income households, and effective public transportation.
For more information on the REDI project or a copy of the policy recommendations, contact Sheryl Lane, Richmond Campaign Coordinator at (510) 839-9510.
