Stand Up for Your State and Local Transportation Funding

Tell your legislators and the governor to keep their hands off public transit funds! While Governor Schwarzenegger called for 10% cuts for most state programs, his May Revise budget proposed to raid 70% of public transit's funding. This proposal would deny Bay Area transit services about $162 million. Without these funds, can expect more service cuts and fare hikes. Contact your legislators and the governor and tell them enough is enough!

Want to see more funding for transit, biking, and walking?

Let your MTC Commissioner know! MTC is in the process of making investment decisions for its 2009 Regional Transportation Plan. Show your support for the Transporation and Land Use Coalition's RTP platform (http://www.transcoalition.org/c/sus_rtp/rtp_h...) that calls for funding for providing transit for all, making biking and walking safer and easier, and protecting our climate. Email your Commissioner and ask him/her to support TALC’s investment recommendations! Find your Commissioner at: http://mtc.ca.gov/about_mtc/commphot.htm

And, attend MTC’s June meetings to voice your support for TALC’s platform. The Planning Committee will meet Friday, June 13 at 9 a.m., and the full Commission will meet on Wednesday, June 25 at 10 a.m.
