The American Dream is perceived as a promise of prosperity for all citizens. The American Dream is the opportunity to raise one’s standard of living without the restrictions of class, religion, race, or ethnic group. According to the dream, this includes the opportunity for one's children to grow up and receive an adequate education, own a home, and live a healthy life.

St. Ignatius Church to Divest Unless Desoer Comes Through with Promise and Results

After a successful protest in San Francisco, Bank of America President of Home Mortgages and Insurance Barbara Desoer has agreed to meet with CCISCO and PICO leaders on January 12, 2009 at Holy Rosary Church in Antioch for national loan modification negotiations. With only a pitiful 98 permanent loan modifications across the country, Bank of America has fallen short of fulfilling their bailout promises.

Richmond Economic Development Campaign

Richmond Economic Development Campaign

Research tells us that there are connections between gun violence, educational opportunity, and employment. Per capita, Richmond has the highest homicide rate in Northern California. At the same time there are major opportunities to dramatically impact the economic environment and reduce gun-related violence.

Richmond has various initiatives and innovative programs that seek to address unemployment and underemployment and which have the potential to provide pathways out of poverty. There is more that can be done to support and create quality jobs and training opportunities.
